Memphis, TN - An editorial notes that "tougher graduation requirements are coming to Tennessee schools, starting with this year's eighth graders....The class of 2013 and every class thereafter will be required to take four years of math, instead of three, including higher level Algebra II....The tougher curriculum results from an initiative by Gov. Phil Bredesen through his Tennessee Diploma Project. The state program is modeled after the American Diploma Project, a coalition of 33 states working together to align graduation standards nationwide." Read the full editorial.
